Norman County to Update Comprehensive Plan; Waukon Dairy Leading to New Developments
Ada, MN — Lots of exciting new developments and investments at this last week’s Norman County Board of Commissioners meeting. At the meeting, the board approved a request from Garry Johanson of Planning and Zoning to move forward with a new County Comprehensive Plan. County Commissioner Lee Ann Hall says it’s been over 50 years since the county last put together a plan and it’s time to update the plans and goals for the county.
There was also an update on more development happening in association with Riverview Dairy. The county heard a presentation from a company that plans to utilize the manure from the barns and build a plant to convert it into renewable natural gas, according to Hall.
And at last week’s meeting, the board of commissioners approved a contract for a new GIS system, called Pictometry. Hall says the GIS will be much more accurate and provide a much clearer picture.
The Norman County Board of Commissioners meet on the first Tuesday and third Thursday of each month.
