The Festival Formerly Known as Ulen Turkey BBQ Days Returns this Weekend
Ulen, MN — What’s Ulen Turkey BBQ Days without the Turkey BBQ? Well, its simply Ulen days! Ulen Days began on Thursday with their Family Fun Day and continues through Sunday. But other than there no longer being an aroma of dozens of turkeys being roasted on a roughly 100-yard charcoal spit, Ulen Days continues on many of the previous traditions. The reason the turkey bbq is no longer, according to Ulen Civic and Commerce member Laura Tweeten, is because it’s a very labor-intensive process and volunteers were getting harder to come by.
Today a number of alumni and Titans supporters are taking part in the NCE-UH Titans Athletics Golf Scramble, but the main attractions for Ulen Days in Saturday. Tweeten invites all area community members to Ulen for the parade, car show, inflatables, basketball and baseball games, bean bag tournament, street dance, and kick ball tournament,
The Ulen Senior Center will also be serving food all day and the Ulen Museum will be open all weekend as well. On Sunday, enjoy a worship service at Atlanta Church at noon and take park in the “Around the Town” Family Scavenger Hunt at the Ulen City Park beginning at 1pm.
