Hillsboro City Commission News & Notes
Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro City Commission had to put out fires at their most recent meeting after blight letters sent out by a commissioner caused an uproar in the community. Roughly two dozen or more business and residential property owners attended the meeting to speak up after receiving letters stating that their property needed to be cleaned up. The concern from the citizens was that they were caught off guard with a short timeline to address the matter. Hillsboro Commission President Terry Sando noted that the rest of the commissioners had no input on the matter prior to the letters being sent out.
In other news from the City of Hillsboro, President Sando says work is underway with the hangar project at the Hillsboro Airport.
Dirt work at the Riverwalk Development is also getting started with hopes of infrastructure being installed sometime this fall.
And the 2nd and final reading of Brewpub Ordinance was approved and will now become law and allow the new Goose River Brewery to operate once its completed, according to Sando.
President Sando, part owner of Goose River Brewing, abstained from the action. The Hillsboro City Commission meets next on Monday, July 19th.
