Aitkin Mayor Megan Workman talks road construction, ordinances, and more with monthly update

(Aitkin, MN) — The City of Aitkin continues to draw on more projects and potential changes in city ordinances with our latest conversation with Mayor Megan Workman leading up to the 4th of July and the Aitkin County Fair next week.

Mayor Workman noted summer road construction projects in city limits, beyond the Highway 210 project between Aitkin and Deerwood.

The City has also been receiving calls from residents on changes to the “Chicken Ordinance”.

Other changes that Aitkin City Council will be weighing this summer are amendments to City Park closing hours and allowance of ATV’s on city streets.

Mayor Workman also talked about the City’s plan for the return of the 4th of July Fireworks display which changed sites for this year.
