Pierz Council Discusses Park Complex Expansion, ARPA, and More from June 14 Meeting
(PIERZ, MN) — The city of Pierz held its first council meeting of the month of June on Monday, so we spoke with Mayor Dave Fischer to gather the latest.
Fischer started by talking about a gap loan that was approved for a new business in town, Dynamic Therapy and Wellness.
The council also discussed the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and made a resolution to approve funds from it; Fischer outlined some of the areas in which those funds would see use.
Another agenda item that saw extensive discussion was the city’s proposed park complex expansion, which Fischer says received a lot of positive feedback during the public input session in May.
In other business, the council found out that their LRIP loan application to help with work on Centennial Drive had been denied, so the city will have to look for a more temporary fix.
We thank Mayor Fischer for his time. Our full conversation with him may be found below.
