Ada, MN — The Norman County Board of Commissioners approved hiring a new Deputy Auditor/Treasurer and got an updated design for the proposed new Highway Department Building at the first regular monthly meeting last Tuesday, June 8th. LeeAnn Hall, Norman County Board Chair, say they had several very qualified candidates for the Deputy Auditor/Treasurer position, so the board approved restructuring to make multiple hires.

Currently the head Auditor/Treasurer is an elected position in Norman County. However, the board approved last week starting to process to transition that position to an appointed, or hired, role.

Also last week, the board finally got an updated design for the proposed Highway Department building. Hall says they are going to look it over, get some cost estimates, and gather feedback from the public before deciding how to proceed.

The Norman County Board of Commissioners also approved a 10-year contract with Bat Pros for the removal of bats from the courthouse, approved a CARES Act money transfer to Public Health, and accepted the resignation of Deputy Welz from the Norman County Sheriff’s Office.
