(BRAINERD, MN) — The city of Brainerd held its first council meeting for the month of June on Monday, so we spoke with Mayor Dave Badeaux to hear about all that was discussed.

Badeaux drew attention to the city’s latest selection for Community Member of the Month.

The city has some construction scheduled on South 6th Street next year, and Badeaux said there was a conversation about how the council wanted things to be looking there as there continues to be an added emphasis on aesthetics with some corridors of the city.

There was also a conversation about regulations of sober houses in the area.

Badeax mentioned that the city has proposed updates to its ordinances regarding food trucks and that the first reading of those changes came during this week’s meeting; however, there are other readings to be heard in the future.

Badeaux wrapped up by discussing the 4th of July in Brainerd and some of the changes that observers should be keeping in mind this time around.

We thank Mayor Badeaux for his time. The city of Brainerd will hold its next council meeting on June 21. Our full interview with Badeaux can be found below.
