1 Year Following His Death, Cody Holte Memorial Softball Tournament Will Celebrate his Life
Ada, MN — Yesterday, May 27th marked the one-year anniversary of when we lost the life Cody Holte, a Grand Forks Police Officer and Halstad-Hendrum native who was killed after a suspect opened fire on him and a fellow officer at an apartment in Grand Forks. A ceremony was held in his honor on Thursday morning outside the Grand Forks Police Department. Holte’s aunt, Stephanie Okroi, says it’s been a difficult year for the Holte family, but they try to maintain a positive attitude like Cody always had.
To keep the memories and fun spirit of Cody alive, Okroi put together the Cody Holte Memorial Softball Tournament that will take place on Saturday, June 5th at the Tony Sipe Field in Ada. Stephanie says the tournament, which filled up instantly, will be a great way to carry on the legacy of Cody and raise money for a scholarship in his name.
Many special tributes and other activities will be a part of the Cody Holte Memorial Softball Tournament next Saturday, including a helicopter fly-in for the first pitch and a silent auction. Okroi says the support from people in the community and all over the region this past year has been incredible.
106.5 KRJB and YourLiveEvent.com is planning on having live coverage of the Cody Holte Memorial Softball tournament next Saturday.
