Representative Marquart Comments on Loosening of COVID Restrictions
St. Paul, MN — Minnesota Governor Tim Walz on Thursday announced the timeline to the end of COVID-19 restrictions in the state. All restrictions other than the mask mandate will end by Memorial Day weekend and the mask mandate will end July 1st or when the state is 70% vaccinated. Representative Marquart on his weekly update this past Friday said this is the first real step in returning to normal.
The Governor has faced criticism the entire length of the pandemic, with some saying he was overstepping his boundaries and even some saying his restrictions weren’t enough. However, Marquart says throughout this ordeal, Walz has at least been very consistent with his actions and did so with the health and safety of Minnesotans in mind.
Marquart predicts the Minnesota economy will see a huge boost this summer with no restrictions and a lot Minnesotans looking to get out and spend money.
Representative Marquart joins the KRJB Kaleidoscope Program weekly during the legislative session, which is scheduled to adjourn on May 17th.
