Bear Hunting Lottery applications due May 7th

(Minnesota) — The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is reminding prospective bear hunters to have their applications in by Friday, May 7th for the lottery areas, which can be submitted online or via telephone at 888-665-4236.
There are 13 permit areas and 3,575 licenses for a fee of 5-dollars to apply. Bear hunting licenses will cost residents 44-dollars and 230-dollars for non-residents. The season is open from Wednesday, September 1st through Sunday, October 17th.
Lottery winners for bear hunting will be notified by June 1st with the deadline to purchase licenses awarded by lottery will be Sunday, August 1st.
The no-quota area that includes east-central and far northwestern Minnesota that is not part of the lottery drawing will have an unlimited number of licenses available that may be purchased starting July 1st.
