Norman County East Students Clean Up Community as part of Annual Be Kind Day
Twin Valley, MN — Swarms of students in yellow shirts could be seen all throughout eastern Norman County yesterday as the Norman County East School held their annual “Be Kind Day.” Be Kind Day is community service tradition for students in grades 7-12. Norman County East High School Principal Dustin Flaten says the students are always a bit hesitant at first, but their attitudes quickly change once they outside and get working.
There was plenty of work to be done throughout the community too. Flaten says they had three buses full heading in all directions.
To thank the students for their hard work, Flaten says the Twin Valley Community Boosters cooked up some hamburgers and hot dogs at Heiberg Park.
The Be Kind Day was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but was pushed back to Thursday as the weather was much nicer.
