Aitkin Mayor Megan Workman discusses first months in Office

(Aitkin, MN) — Nearly a quarter of the year into being Mayor of Aitkin, Megan Workman continues to get the lay of the land while looking at the future of the Mississippi Riverboat Town.
We recently spoke with Mayor Workman about the projects that are currently being worked on that began with her predecessor, Gary Tibbitts.
One of the notable projects includes the Hockey Rink/Pickle Ball Courts, which has seen delays and possible changes to location of the facilities. Mayor Workman and the Aitkin City Council have addressed the concerns from residents.
In her short term as Mayor, Workman relies a good deal on the City Council for support and cooperation.
Outdoor recreation in the Aitkin area is also seeing increased importance and upcoming events will cater to those needs.
