NCE School to Bring Back FFA Program with New Ag Teacher; Outdoor Space Improvements Scheduled for this Summer
Twin Valley, MN — The Norman County East School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Monday night, April 19th. At the meeting, the board approved hiring Jordan Newburg as an Ag/Tech Teacher. Newburg brings a background in agriculture and because of that, Norman County East Superintendent Rob Nudell says the district will be able to offer an FFA program once again for the first time in years.
The school board also hired Rebecca Crummey as the new Head Volleyball coach.
Some exciting new improvements are coming to the outdoor spaces at the Norman County East school this summer. Superintendent Nudell says they were able to use some COVID funding to add an outdoor classroom, refinish the basketball and tennis court, and update signage.
All of the projects are expected to be completed by the end of July or early August.
And Nudell notes that the Norman County East School Board approved the new Teacher’s Contract and new insurance quotes as well.
The board also approved a $4500 grant from TEAM Industries for Elementary Robotics, a $2,640 grant from the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council for Art Equipment, and a $500 grant from the Twin Cities Opera Guild for the Spring Musical, which is scheduled for May 21st and 23rd.
