Stearns County Extension hosting virtual Rose Education Day on April 24th

(St Cloud, MN) — The University of Minnesota Extension, Stearns County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers, and the Stearns County Rose Society will be coming together for their annual Rose Education Day on Saturday, April 24th at from 9am-12pm via Zoom.
Part of Rose Education Day will be Jim Beardsley presenting “Chemical Safety for the Home Gardener” for all information on the integrated pest management (IPM), pesticides for specific rose pests and diseases, safe chemical use and storage, personal protective equipment, and reading pesticide labels. This presentation qualifies for one American Rose Society (ARS) chemical safety training credit.
Dr. David Zlesak will present “Where Do Modern Roses come From”, covering the history of polyantha, floribunda, and hybrid tea roses as it relates to many of the newer disease resistant roses on the market today.
