Week of the Young Child
Ada, MN — This week is the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s Week of the Young Child and Karen Devos of Little Learners Daycare in Ada joined us recently to talk about the celebration and the importance of childcare in the community. According to the NAEYC website, the purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. At Little Learners, they are celebrating with different themes for each day of the week, such as Music Monday and Family Friday, according to Devos.
Also on Wednesday, Devos says she’s excited to take part in a virtual rally to advocate for early childcare needs in the state of Minnesota.
The Little Learners team has long been very active in advocating for childcare needs by participating in various committees and testifying at the capitol. Devos talks about some of those things they’ve been supporting and continue to push for.
In recognition of the Week of the Young Child, R & J Broadcasting, Inc and 106.5 KRJB will be broadcasting remarks from the 2021 Advocacy for Children Virtual Rally. The rally broadcast will air at 1:45pm this Wednesday afternoon.
