(BRAINERD, MN) — The city of Brainerd held its latest regular council meeting on Monday, April 5, so we spoke with Mayor Dave Badeaux to hear about what was discussed.

During the meeting, the city discussed its code enforcement, and ultimately decided to play a more active role, rather than deal with cases as they’re reported.

The city also made the decision to block truck traffic near the Evergreen boat landing to ensure it will be ready once fishing season starts heating up.

Badeaux then provided updates on some ongoing developments; first, that the city will be moving forward with coloring its sidewalks in the downtown area to enhance pedestrian travel.

And additionally, Badeaux had some thoughts to share on the updated sign ordinance.

Finally, Badeaux looked ahead to the first annual Spring Fling in downtown Brainerd, which will be coming up on May 7th and 8th.

We thank Mayor Badeaux for his time. The city of Brainerd will hold its next regular council meeting on April 19. Our full interview with Badeaux can be found below.
