Aitkin County Health and Human Services meeting from March 23rd

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Health & Human Services Department held their monthly conversation with the Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, March 23rd from the Government Center Board Room. The notable topics did include a Legislative update from Director Cynthia Bennett and the latest with COVID-19 from Public Health’s Erin Melz.
HHS Director Cynthia Bennett gave an update on important legislative priorities in front of the Commissioners.
Bennett also spoke about the American Rescue Plan and how HHS can contribute on behalf of Aitkin County.
Public Health Supervisor Erin Melz presented to Commissioners the vaccination clinics held within the last month.
Melz also spread positive news on their partnership with Riverwood Healthcare on vaccine distribution.
Melz did also report that Aitkin County has reported that 33.8% of the population has received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose.
Aitkin County HHS will next meet with the Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, April 27th.
