Ada, MN — The Norman County Board of Commissioners held their second regular monthly meeting on Thursday, March 18th. At the meeting the board approved a contract with Norman County Soil and Water Conservation District for weed inspection services. Norman County Commission Board Chair LeeAnn Hall says that contract up until now, had always been with the local extension educator.

Hall adds that Norman County Soil & Water should be a good natural fit to take over the weed inspection duties.

The board also discussed and approved a request from Mahnomen County to allow them to host their jury trials in the Norman County courtroom, which has more adequate space for those trials.

And the commissioners discussed a quote to replace the north entrance doors of the courthouse. However, Hall says it was important that if they replace that doors that they do so with the historical nature of the building in mind. She adds that it would not only be more aesthetically pleasing, but it also opens them up for grants.

The Norman County Board of Commissioners meets next on April 6th.
