Hendrum, MN — The Norman County West School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 16th in Hendrum. At the meeting, the board heard from representatives of the Save the Norman County West Elementary Building Committee, Curt Johansen and John Kolness, who presented on some of the potential uses they have for the building. Norman County West Board Chair Brad Merkens says they have a lot of great ideas, but most importantly they want to make sure that the building stays heated and maintained for at least a year while they continue with their planning.
The Norman County West School Board also approved a resolution approving the consolidation plat and plan between the West and Ada-Borup Districts. However, on the subject of consolidation, Merkens says a few board members brought forward some concerns about decisions being made for the new district without input from the West board.
Merkens also shared that this whole consolidation process has been very difficult for the board, but its what needs to be done.
And The Norman County West School Board approved the annual World’s Best Workforce Plan, which was presented by Principal Deanne Flom.
