Norman County FSA: Deadline for Enrollment or Election ARC/PLC Program is March 15th

Ada, MN — The Norman County FSA office is reminding producers that the deadline for election and enrollment in the Agriculture Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage is fast approaching. That deadline is Monday, March 15th, and Norman County FSA Randy Tufton says it’s now an annual election so farmers can change options next year if they would like.

According to the USDA website, The ARC program provides income support tied to historical base acres, not current production, of covered commodities. ARC payments are issued when the actual county crop revenue of a covered commodity is less than the ARC guarantee for the covered commodity.

PLC program payments are issued when the effective price of a covered commodity is less than the respective reference price for that commodity. The effective price equals the higher of the market year average price or the national average loan rate for the covered commodity.
