McGregor School Board approved 2021-22 School Calendar, updates COVID-19 at February 22nd meeting

(McGregor, MN) — The McGregor School Board held their regular monthly meeting Monday night from the School Auditorium to review items for the 2021-22 School Calendar and COVID-19 within the District.
The Board approved the donation from the McGregor Lakes Area Foundations totaling $4,190 and an oboe from Pat Scollard. Approval was also given on the retirement request from School Nurse Ann Zappia and the hiring of Michael Sorenson as the Head Baseball Coach.
Superintendent and Elementary Principal Brad Johnson presented the 2021-21 School Calendar to the Board with a couple changes.
The Calendar was approved as well as a quote for $5,600 to fix the air handler unit repairs. Superintendent Johnson is also seeking guidance on the next steps with the bidding and planning process for the Building Referendum.
High School Principal and Activities Director Bob Staska spoke about this week’s Homecoming Festivities and plans for Prom in the near future.
Staska also expanded on fan allowance and home sporting events.
Coming back to Superintendent Johnson for an update on COVID-19, he mentioned adjustments with recent vaccine delivery to McGregor educators.
The McGregor School Board will be holding their Work Session Meeting on Monday, March 8th at 6pm, held virtually.
