State Legislators speak at Eggs and Issues virtual event

(Brainerd, MN) — Local and State Legislators gathered together Friday morning last week to review and update their constituents on the latest at the State Capital with the annual Eggs & Issues event, held virtually for the second straight year through the Brainerd Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce.
Issues covered during the Q&A Forum included the 2021 Legislative Session, COVID-19 Vaccine distribution, business shutdowns, etc. District 9 State Senator and Majority Leader Paul Gazelka spoke about the GOP’s stance of getting schools fully open and to cancel Governor Tim Walz’s emergency powers.
District 10 State Senator Carried Ruud also talked about getting all Brainerd Lakes businesses back open again with recent bills getting through the Legislature.
District 9A State Representative John Poston weighed in on the State Budget and the process leading to eventual passing.
District 10B State Representative Dale Lueck spoke about health insurance and concerns over rise in costs from the past year.
District 10A State Representative Josh Heintzeman gave his stance, and other Legislators are feeling the same, on the California Car Emissions standards and recent actions at the State Capital.
