(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Department of Transportation has opened the voting for their “Name a Snowplow” contest.
MnDOT has received nearly 24,000 creative name submissions, and after review staff and leadership have whittled down the list to 50 selections for public voting. MnDOT focused on selecting names that were submitted frequently, easily identifiable, and understandable to broad audiences, or submissions that are unique, creative, or Minnesota-specific.
Voting is now available through a link with this story and will be open through Friday, February 26th at 5pm. Individuals will be able to vote once for up to eight of their favorite names.
MnDOT expects to name eight winners in early March and the areas of the state where those named snowplows will be located.
