CTC awarded funds from DEED for Border-to-Border Broadband program

(Brainerd, MN) — The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development announced they awarded over $20 million through their Border-to-Border Broadband Development Grant program. 39 total projects were awarded throughout the state and will be matched by nearly $34 million in local funds, for a total investment of $54.3 million
Consolidated Telecommunication Company (CTC) received $350,805 in funding from DEED, which will combine with the $350,805 matching funds from CTC. The project, when completed, would serve 180 homes and businesses in Ross Lake Township in Crow Wing County that will have internet access with speeds up to 1Gig.
The project would allow rural residents to work from home, safely stay in their homes longer, and increase communication options for area businesses and residents.
