NWMF Launches COVID Community Hereos Campaign
Bemidji, MN — The COVID-19 pandemic has been a trying time for all of us, but some of us have risen above and made meaningful impacts on our community during the challenging times. The Northwest Minnesota Foundation wants to recognize those people, businesses, and organizations through their COVID Community Heroes Campaign.
That’s Kari Cooper, Northwest Minnesota Foundation Communications Manager. Nominations for the COVID Community Heroes Campaign are being accepted now through May 1st. Cooper says they are looking for individuals who rallied to help those in need and businesses or nonprofits who banded together to aid their communities.
There are two levels of hero awards that will be recognized, Green Star and Blue Star, both of which will receive region wide recognition and a COVID Community Heroes thank you gift. However, Green Star Heroes, those that have hone above and beyond to serve people during the pandemic, will also receive a $500 donation to the charity or nonprofit of their choice in Northwest Minnesota.
Cooper is hoping that the Community Heroes Campaign will inspire others in the region and provide a positive message during a difficult time.
