Ada-Borup School Raising Money & Showing Support for Ethan Plemmons
Ada, MN — The Ada-Borup School District is continuing to do everything they can to show support for a fellow student battling leukemia. Ethan Plemmons was diagnosed with a rare form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in November 2019. As a Junior at Ada-Borup (West) High School, he had just completed Cross Country and was getting ready for the Basketball season. In his words, “He was in the best shape of his life” when he received the life altering news. He was diagnosed with stage III mixed phenotype acute lymphoma with B-myeloid differentiation. It is an aggressive cancer that has occurred in less than 1% of all lymphoma/leukemia patients.
On November 5th, 2020, Ethan was nearing the end of his treatments and looking forward to going home and eventually returning to school. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way. Ethan was diagnosed with leukemia in December. Ethan is bravely and courageously fighting this battle.
The Ada-Borup School is currently hosting a fundraiser to raise money to help support his treatments. High School Principal Josh Carlson says are selling t-shirts, conducting a hat day fundraiser, and have an account set up in town as well.
The Ada-Borup West Boys Basketball team is hosting the Bagley Flyers tonight and fans are being asked to wear orange in support of Ethan. They will also have a donation jar at the concession stand for anyone looking to donate. Ethan and his family remain hopeful and optimistic in his fight. Please keep the Plemmons family in your thoughts and prayers.
