Aitkin County Board meeting from February 9th

(Aitkin, MN) — Annual contract renewals were among the major topics from Tuesday’s Aitkin County Board of Commissioners meeting from the Aitkin County Government Center Board Room.
Commissioners did approve Consumption & Display Permits for Hidden Meadows, Larson’s Barn, and the 202 Tavern. A Public Hearing Date was also established for Land Classification on April 13th, 2021 and a Permanent Right-of-Way Easement was also approved by the Board.
After a pair of presentations, from UofM Extension on 4-H Program update and AMC on Clean Car Standards, Auditor Kirk Peysar presented a resolution for a liquor license for Minnesota National Golf Club & Resort.
The Board did approve the liquor license. County Engineer John Welle brought a pair of resolutions including bridge replacement and the Trunk Highway 2 Detour Agreement.
Those resolutions were approved by the Board, as was a lease agreement with the State of Minnesota for Gravel Mining and a resolution for Office Furniture Purchase.
Environmental Services Director Terry Neff brought to Commissioners an update to the County’s recycling contract.
The contract was approved by the Council as well as Residential Waste Electronics Collection and removing land from the “Restricted” District.
Land Commissioner Rich Courtemanche spoke about the Great River Energy Land Sale.
County Administrator Jessica Seibert presented to the Board the Run River Joint Powers Agreement Content & Structure, with the actual agreement to come at a later date.
The Content & Structure was approved by the Board.
The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners will be meeting on Tuesday, February 23rd at 9am from the Aitkin County Government Board Room. The Board will also meet with Health & Human Services.
