Hawley, MN — The Hawley School District is making great progress in the process of getting their teachers and staff vaccinated. Clay County Public Health has been offering the opportunities to get vaccinated for the staff and Hawley Elementary Principal says everyone that’s been offered to get the first dose of the vaccine has gotten it. There have been some challenges, however, as time slots were during class time and staff members had to step up to fill in for others while they were getting the vaccine.

Ellingson says now that their staff is getting vaccinated, they’ve been able to reincorporate some of their previous learning models, such as allowing 6th graders to move between classes.

Ellingson also noted that as of Thursday, there were zero confirmed cases of COVID-19 amongst all Hawley staff and students in both the elementary and high school.
