(East Gull Lake, MN) — Crow Wing County is in the process of preparing an Environmental Assessment Worksheet for a proposed golf course expansion and residential development at Cragun’s Resort in East Gull Lake and the First Assessment District.
Cragun’s Resort is proposing to construct a residential development, expand the Legacy Golf Courses by adding 9 new golf holes and recondition the existing golf course. The projects will also include 66 single residential housing lots integrated into the course expansion using a conservation design approach.
The EAW is designed to set out the basic facts necessary to determine whether an Environmental Impact Statement is required for a proposed action. The purpose of the EAW process is to disclose information about potential environmental impacts of a project. The worksheet contains 20 questions focusing on the project’s environmental setting, the potential for environmental harm, and plans to reduce the harm.
The public can review a copy of the EAW and associated documents at www.crowwing.us/environmental. Comments on the EAW must be submitted to Crow Wing County by March 11, 2021 at 5pm, and may be submitted to the Land Services Offices by email or mailed to 322 Laurel Street, Suite 15 Brainerd, MN 56401.
The Crow Wing County Board of Commissioners will make a decision on the need for an EIS at a regularly scheduled County Board meeting on March 23, 2021.
