Lakes Area Music Festival Awarded $10,000 Grant
The Lakes Area Music Festival was approved for a $10,000 Grants for Arts Projects award to support its 2021 festival season. This project will serve residents and summer visitors of central Minnesota with performances of classical music, according to a news release. The festival project is among 1,073 projects across America selected to receive grants totaling nearly $25 million during this first round of fiscal year 2021 funding in the Grants for Arts Projects funding category.
“… the Lakes Area Music Festival has been measured against the best arts and cultural organizations in the country and found to be deserving of recognition,” LAMF Artistic and Executive Director Scott Lykins stated. “This season we are one of five music organizations in the state of Minnesota, and the only one located outside the Twin Cities. “
After successfully pivoting programs online in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lakes Area Music Festival is still determining the best course of action in planning the 2021 season which will be supported, in part, through these funds. Announcement of 2021 concert, education, and outreach activities that takes place July 30 through Aug. 22, will be available later this spring.
