Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro City Commission held their first regular monthly meeting for February on Monday night, February 1st. At the meeting, the commission heard from two Hillsboro citizens who wanted to address the commission. The first of which was Subway owner Dave Windom, who was in inquiring about tax and utility breaks for businesses impacted by the pandemic, according to Commission President Terry Sando.

The commission also heard from resident Charlie Stoc, who Sando says was requesting to purchase a small piece of city property that he has been taking care of over the years.

Under the commission’s report on Monday night, President Sando addressed some issues with the auditing software that’s led to some confusion with the city’s finances.

Sando also reported on some updates from the Hillsboro Airport. He notes that there is interest in building additional hangars at the facility, but there is a lack of funds for new projects at the moment.

The Hillsboro City Commission is scheduled to meet next on Tuesday, February 16th at 6:30pm at the Main Street Community Center.
