Fosston, MN — A new display is showcased at the Sorenson Art Gallery in Fosston titled “Art of the Dress” and you can go see it throughout the entire month of February.
The display features wedding dresses from the late 1880’s through 1929. Visitors to the exhibit will see three dresses from the late 1880’s and East Polk Heritage Center Board Member Stephenie Anderson explains a little bit about the design of the dresses that you will see on display.
In the 1920’s, the fashion design of dresses really changed. Going from a tight fitting, ankle length dress to a shorter length and looser fitting. As a matter of fact, Bonnie Stewart explains that one of the dresses on display that was worn in the 1920’s was donated to the gallery by a former Fosston resident.
The exhibit can be viewed at the Sorenson Gallery which is located in the Fosston Library and Arts Center at 403 Foss Avenue. The exhibit will be held through February and can be viewed during regular public library hours.
