Rep. Marquart Comments on Walz Budget Proposals
St. Paul, MN — Last Wednesday, Governor Tim Walz announced his budget proposal for the state of Minnesota for the next biennium. The House and Senate won’t release their budget proposals until after the February economic forecast, but District 4B Representative Paul Marquart says Walz’s proposal puts priorities on helping support working families, ensuring students catch up on learning, and help small businesses stay afloat.
The Governor’s budget proposal isn’t without controversy. Included in his budget is $150 million to help rebuild businesses destroyed by the George Floyd riots this past summer. While Marquart doesn’t agree with the amount, he does support helping businesses rebuild.
