Hawley to Host Virtual One-Act Play Subsection this Weekend
Hawley, MN — Hawley will be hosting their subsection One Act Play competition this Saturday, January 30th, although “hosting” is a loose term as this year it will be held virtually. The six schools in that subsection will all have to upload a video of their performance via a shared platform and send it to the judges for review within 48 hours. The results will be made available on Saturday.
Broden Albrecht is a Senior at the Hawley High School participating in the One Act Play this year. He shared some info on this year’s production during the Hawley School News this week and his role in it.
The One Act Play participants still maintain social distancing on stage and wear masks when not speaking. Albrecht says it’s a bit different this year having to perform in front of a camera and not a live audience as well, but they are stepping up to the challenge.
There will not be a public performance of their production this year and due to copyright laws they are unable to share the video either.
