Essentia Health-Ada Staff Now Fully Vaccinated; Norman County Still Amongst Leaders for Vaccine Distribution
Ada, MN — Norman County continues to lead the way in the state in getting residents vaccinated for COVID-19, partly due to it’s limited size and high percentage of essential workers and elderly population. As of Wednesday, 674 people, or just over 10% of the population, had received at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Another 68, or about 1% had received the second dose. A majority of those who have completed the vaccination series are healthcare workers, including all the staff at Essentia Health in Ada. Erin Stoltman, Essentia Health-Ada Administrator, says it’s a big relief knowing that her staff has completed the vaccination process.
Essentia Health-Ada held their first vaccination clinic last week for those over the age of 65. Stoltman says that clinic went very well, but there are still a number of people who are in the priority group who want to be vaccinated. She urges them to be patient as doses are limited.
Stoltman encourages people interested in the vaccine to sign up for a free MyChart account and turn on notifications, which may send you alerts as vaccines become available.
