Business Assistance Grants Available for Mahnomen County Businesses
Mahnomen, MN — More assistance is now available to Mahnomen County businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and specifically those who lost business following Governor Walz’s Executive Order that placed restrictions on establishments such as restaurants, bars, caterers, entertainment venues, gyms, and other recreational facilities. Mahnomen County Administrator says they received $250,000 from the state to give out via grants and like their previous CARES grant, they will work with Headwaters Regional Development Commission to manage the distribution program.
A scoring system will be utilized to determine the grant amount and be based on factors such as adverse impact from executive orders, demonstrated need, and full time employees. Priority will also be given to those who did not receive the previous Mahnomen County CARES grant. There is no specified maximum amount that can be awarded other than businesses cannot receive more than their identified need. Cadwell adds that the application process is very straightforward.
