Aitkin County Health & Human Services discusses COVID-10 vaccination sites, Legislative priorities with Board of Commissioners

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Health & Human Services Department held their monthly conversation with the Board of Commissioners Tuesday morning from the Aitkin County Government Center Board Room.
Janet Watson, Family Resource Coach at Lakes & Pines, spoke to Commissioners on the WRAP Program.
Health and Human Services Director Cynthia Bennett started her Directors update with the early weeks of the Legislative Session.
Bennett also mentioned other priorities that were left off this year’s Session.
There was also an update on the COVID-19 vaccination clinics for educators, child care providers, and those age 65-and-over, which did have some hurdles that need to be addressed.
The Board of Commissioners did approve contracts for Northeast Minnesota Office of Job Training MFIP, AEOA, McGregor Schools Foster Care Program Transportation Agreement, Mille Lacs Health Systems Ambulance, Northland Psychiatric Associates, Northland Counseling Center – Clubhouse, Phil Tange, Riverwood Healthcare Center Family Planning, and Woodview Support Services/Family Planning. Approval was also given for Emergency General Assistance and Emergency Assistance policies.
Health and Human Services will meet with the Aitkin County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, February 23rd.
