(Crosby, MN) — The Cuyuna Lakes Chamber of Commerce will be taking the 17th annual Ice Fishing Contest off Serpent Lake and go online for Saturday, February 6th. Cuyuna Lakes Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Brielle Bredsten spoke about the unfortunate decision to take the Ice Fishing Contest online and how the Fish Donkey app allows them to keep the contest going.

Over $4,000 in prizes will be awarded ranging to gift cards to outdoor and fishing equipment.

For those thinking of maybe “gaming the system” or “slipping throwing the cracks” in order to get the big prizes, Bredsten has some of her own tricks up her sleeves.

The three longest Walleye, Northern Pike, Bass, and Crappie will be awarded a 2021 Cuyuna Lakes Ice Fishing Contest Winner’s Plaque and a 2022 Cuyuna Lakes Fishing Contest ticket. The Ice Fishing Raffle has also changed this year.

Raffle tickets are only $10 and can be picked up at local businesses in Crosby, Deerwood, Emily, and Ironton. The Scorpions Homecoming will, also unfortunately, will be taking the year off.

More information on the Cuyuna Lakes Chamber Ice Fishing Contest, including how to enter a fish with the Fish Donkey App, can be found on www.cuyunalakes.com. Registration is only $20 per person. Contests winners will be announced live on February 6th on Skeeter 101.5 FM and the Cuyuna Lakes Chamber Facebook page.
