(McGregor, MN) — 2021 is already off to a better start than last year for four organizations thanks to the McGregor Lakes Area Foundation and the grants they recently awarded.
Lisa Mueller, MLAF Advisory Committee member, informed us that the Foundation has been helping organizations for almost 30 years.
This year’s recipients of grants included community service, school, and healthcare organizations.
McGregor ANGELS will use their grant to offer assistance to seniors age 60 and over who are at risk of losing independence to live safely in their homes. McGregor Schools’ grants will support the Big Sandy Water Institute and two preschool programs. The McGregor Food Shelf grant will help provide nutritional support and funds to the Riverwood McGregor Clinic will purchase books for the Riverwood Reads Program. Mueller says the application process adjusted with the outbreak of COVID-19.
The McGregor Lakes Area Foundation also missed out this year on their annual fundraiser among other events.
Including the funding from this year, the McGregor Lakes Area Foundation has brought a total of over $95,000 to McGregor area community organizations since 2000.
