(NISSWA, MN) — The city of Nisswa met for a regular council meeting on Tuesday, January 19, for the first time in 2021. We spoke with John Ryan, the city’s newly minted Mayor, to hear about how it went.

Ryan, who served on the Nisswa City Council last term, was sworn in as the city’s new Mayor this week after he defeated the incumbent Fred Heidmann in the election in November 2020. He said he thought this first meeting was smooth, if uneventful.

Ryan talked about what he thinks of the team he has to work with in Nisswa, which he’s already familiar with due to his work on the council in years prior, and outlined some of his goals for the future working with them in a mayorial capacity.

The city currently has openings in some of its committees and commissions that Ryan wanted to promote as well.

We thank Mayor Ryan for his time. The city of Nisswa’s website can be found here and they will hold their next regular council meeting on February 16. Our full interview with Ryan can be found below.
