(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Habitat for Humanity is not waiting for the weather to change or for 2021 to improve with the COVID-19 Pandemic. We caught up with Ann Schwartz, Director of the Aitkin County Habitat for Humanity, on their most recent project, a new house located at 218 Minnesota Ave S in Aitkin.

Schwartz spoke about the change in the process of building the house as opposed to other years.

Given the time of year, weather has kept away some volunteers and Schwartz is putting out a call for help for house essentials.

Volunteers with home building experience are also greatly needed among other day-to-day volunteers.

The Aitkin County Habitat for Humanity is also looking for help with some small projects for senior citizens.

Yearly events are also up in the air as uncertainty with the Coronavirus continues.

Be sure to visit the Habitat home being built in Aitkin located at 218 Minnesota Ave S. To volunteer your time or to learn more about Aitkin County Habitat for Humanity, visit their website or call 218-927-5656.
