Aitkin City Council meets Tuesday; contract updates highlight agenda

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin City Council will be holding their second meeting of 2021 on Tuesday, with city offices being closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
The Council will convene from the Aitkin Public Library Community and will look to approve a pay request for the Park Improvement Project, and agreements for City/County Prosecution Services and 2021 City and Public Utilities Commission.
Under the Administration Report, City Administrator Rose Beverly will present to the Council a Professional Services Agreement for a Pay Study with David Drown & Associates. Updates on Liquor Store Inventory and Park Committee will be provided, and Conditional Job Offers for the Liquor Store and an appointment to the Planning Commission will also be spoken on.
New Business for the Council will include 2021 dues from Range Association of Municipalities and the Aitkin Police Department will discuss the School Resource Officer Contract on a notification of non-renewal. Ann Schwartz from the Aitkin Habitat for Humanity will give an update on the recent building of a new house in Aitkin.
The Aitkin City Council is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, January 19th at 6pm from the Aitkin Public Library Community Room.
