COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout Continues in Minnesota
Ada, MN — Vaccination for the COVID-19 virus continue to ramp up across the state and locally. According to the Minnesota Department of Health, 166 people in Norman County, or about 2.5% of the population, have received a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Mahnomen County is slightly ahead with 300 vaccinations, or about 5.5% of the population. However, the White Earth Nation, which is located mostly in Mahnomen and Becker County, has already had public vaccination events for seniors, high risk, and first responders. 853 have received the vaccination in Becker County, 566 in Clay County, 743 in in Polk, 197 in Clearwater County, 73 in Red Lake, and 272 in Pennington County. As more people continue to be vaccinated, Sarah Kjono with Norman-Mahnomen Public Health notes that we still need to do all those things that we have been doing all along to protect ourselves and others until a majority of the population is vaccinated.
Kjono and Essentia Health-Ada Administrator Erin Stoltman will be a part of our COVID-19 Conversation Program this Wednesday at 11am to provide further updates on the COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout.
