Ada, MN — While thefts haven’t necessarily increased in the city of Ada, they have increased around the county and the area. And because of this, Ada Police Chief Jody Bueng is encouraging people to be on the lookout for suspicious people or suspicious activity, both of which may be easier to spot now that we’re in the heart of winter.

As Chief Bueng alluded to, most thieves are opportunists looking for the quickest and easiest way to make a quick buck. He notes that you can best protect yourself and your possessions by just simply locking your doors and eliminating potential points of easy entry.

Some of the most common items stolen from residences include electronics, tools, cash, prescription drugs, and alcohol. Also a hot commodity, according to Bueng, is personal information that can be used for identity theft.
