McGregor City Council meets for first meeting of 2021

(McGregor, MN) — The McGregor City Council welcomed two new Council members and opened the year with renewals and updates at their first meeting of 2021 at the McGregor Fire Hall on January 5th.
New Council members Shelly Brantner and Terry Hensel were sworn into the positions at the meeting. After taking his Oath of Office to begin his second term, Mayor Dake Olson elaborated on the activity of the McGregor Fire Department, Fire Relief Association, and Ambulance Service.
The Fire Department also received a donation from the City of $75,000 to the Fire Relief Association for trucks and equipment. The Council also approved continuing to meet on the 1st Tuesdays of each month, Acting Mayor will be Randy Merritt, and Acting Clerk will be Deb Hagen, along with other yearly renewals.
An update was given on the McGregor Community Center after the Lions Club donated $250 for striping the parking lot and $10,000 for floor repair.
The McGregor Airport will be continuing with their 20-year expansion project and with the zoning needs.
Annual renewals of insurance policies, FEMA, Dunns and SAMS for 2021 were also approved by the Council. The McGregor City Council is next scheduled to meet on February 2nd at 6pm from the McGregor Fire Station.
