Public Health Covid Vaccine
As we look back on 2020, without a doubt the term “Pandemic” and medical term “Covid-19” dominated the headlines, and it will be the biggest thing we think of long term for the year 2020. Norman Mahnomen Public Health Director Sarah Kjono was in for the final Covid Conversation for the calendar year, and vaccine information was shared. Some people in our area, and over 40,000 in Minnesota have received the first dose of the Covid-19 Vaccine, and Kjono says that once you receive the vaccine, you’ll still be needing to following the mitigation efforts to slow the spread.
Meanwhile, a Colorado man in his 20’s was the first known US citizen to have contracted the newest strain of the Covid-19 virus…a mutation of the virus that has caused this pandemic. Public health expected a mutation to happen at some point, and the question of “will the vaccine work against the mutation” was brought up.
