Lake Park-Audubon School to bring Referendum to vote in November
The Lake Park-Audubon School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Monday night, December 21st. At the meeting they heard from their Growth and Long Term Planning Committee. The committee recently completed a public survey on the district’s plans for a more than $20 million elementary expansion and renovation. After getting some public feedback, Lake Park-Audubon Superintendent Dr. Paula Henry says the school board plans to move forward the referendum vote in November of 2021.
The board could have also chosen to bring the referendum to a vote in April, but Superintendent Henry says by waiting until the fall it gives them more time to fine tune their plans and properly present it to the public, who will ultimately have the final say in the matter.
The Elementary School in Audubon was originally constructed in 1956, but has had additions in 1971, 1978, and 2011
The Lake Park-Audubon School Board also recognized outgoing board member Darrel Pederson at this month’s meeting, who served on the board for 12 years.
