(PIERZ, MN) — The city of Pierz held a regular council meeting on Monday, December 28. We spoke with Mayor Dave Fischer to get a recap of the city’s final council meeting of the 2020 calendar year.

Fischer began by mentioning an update with planning and zoning regarding park models.

The council was also notified that Horizon Health would not be making their land available for community gardens, and discussed ways in which land could still be provided for the residents that planned on using them.

Fischer also updated us on the city’s Business Assistance Program, which offered some more aid to seven local businesses impacted by the latest shutdown orders from the Governor.

Finally, Fischer took a look back on the year 2020 and talked about how he thought everything went for the city of Pierz, all things considered.

We thank Mayor Fischer for his time. Our full interview with him, in which he also discusses local scholarships and a new electric rate study, can be found below.
