Aitkin County Board approves 2021 Board, Levy from December 22nd meeting

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Board closed out 2020 with discussion and action on budgets, levies, and plans for the New Year from the Aitkin County Government Center Board Room.
The Board did approve items including appointments of Dale Shipp, James Bixby, Robert Marcum, Russ Hoppe, and Bob Lake to the Natural Resources Advisory Committee, and authorized County Administrator Jessica Seibert to approve miscellaneous year-end matters.
County Auditor Kirk Peysar spoke before Commissioners on adopting applications for On, Off, & Sunday Liquor Licenses for 2021.
That resolution was approved along with the liquor license for the Westerlund Cenex of Malmo Township. County Administrator Jessica Seibert presented resolutions for 2021 Commissioner and Elected Officials Salaries, and 2020 Reserve Requests, which all received Board approval. Administrator Seibert also requested fund transfers for the Long Lake Conservation Center.
Passing of the 2021 Budget and Levy was also presented to the Board. Administrator Seibert placed in front of Commissioners an increase in the Levy.
The Board decided to approve the 2021 Levy with a 2.0 percent increase for a total $15,566,601, and the Budget at $35,045,282. Following approval of the following resolutions, Administrator Seibert opened discussion on the Board’s guidance for the latest round of the State Relief package.
The Aitkin County Board will next be meeting on January 12th, 2021 from the Aitkin County Government Center.
