Area Schools Bring Theater to Them this Holiday Season
Hillsboro, ND — Another long-standing tradition bites the dust due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Usually on the last day of school before the holiday break at the Hillsboro School, all the high school students board the busses for a trip to the movie theater in East Grand Forks. Unfortunately, that, like most all field trips, won’t be happening this year. However, High School Principal Terry Baesler says if they can’t go to the theater, they’re going to bring the theater and some other fun activities to them.
At the Ada-Borup School, a similar undertaking will happen sometime this week. Elementary Principal Bree Triplett says they’ve partnered up with the legendary Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis to bring A Dicken’s Holiday Classic right to their classrooms.
You too can take in the Dicken’s Holiday Classic, which will be a virtual telling of A Christmas Carol. It is available for streaming December 19th – 31st. The cost is $10 for single household use. However, it has been made free for all K-12 schools in Minnesota. Learn more at www.guthrietheater.org.
